Bentleigh United Cobras FC has been running focused skills development programs for our higher-performing players over the past 3 years.
The program has contributed to the development of many State Representative and NPL level players as well as several successful championship teams.
Our goal is to achieve maximum technical skills development for junior players through a simple but effective program of skills-focused small-sided activities.
The key areas of focus will be technique, skills (ie technique under pressure), first touch, playing out, awareness, vision, and decision making.
We create an environment that enables players to constantly challenge themselves to improve both physically and mentally.
Qualified coaches will emphasise the development of ball control, and individual skills to beat an opponent, through improved footwork, passing, shielding, dribbling, and shooting.
Players will be encouraged to take risks and test their skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Importantly, the Academy program will be guided by the principles of the FFA Football Curriculum.
Cobras Academy Groups are not team-based but instead consist of similar age-based small groups of talented players.
Participation in the Cobras Academy is based upon a selection process.
The next Trial Date is January 2022
