Bayside 5-a-side Cup Round 3

November 13, 2016

The U11 Cobras have maintained an unbeaten record after another fantastic display in Round 3 - Saturday 12th November.

Despite facing a tougher opposition in the 4th placed Panthers our boys outclassed their opponents with a superior passing game. Watching the ball zigzag across the field from player to player is a joy to behold.

Once again the team found themselves outnumbered at the mid point of the first half having racked up 6 unanswered goals.

With an extra player the Panthers were able to peg back a goal before half time but were unable to prevent the Cobras putting another 3 in the back of the net, going into half time 9-1.

The added confidence of the boys to be able to maintain possession under pressure , working their markers away from the ball or looking up to find a teammate in support speaks volumes of the coaching received throughout the year and the hours of individual practice they have put into developing their ball control.

Warmer weather once again took a toll on the players with the team having to make substitutions with increasing frequency throughout the second half. All of the boys dug deep and supported one another in both attack and defense.

The heat obviously effected both teams and the goal scoring tempo dropped a bit in the 2nd half with the Cobras scoring 5 vs the opposition's 1 goal.

Great effort in goals by Jack with some athletic saves and lightening relaunches supported what was once again an all round fantastic performance by the team:

Final Score 14-2.
