Bayside 5-a-side Cup Round 4 -Cobras U11 in top of the table clash.

November 19, 2016

Saturday 19th November saw a top of the table clash between our Cobra5 and the Classic 11.

Having nipped at the heels of the Classic 11 since the 2nd round, this was a highly anticipated match for the Cobra5 and one which did not fail to live up to expectations.

Both teams demonstrated the skill and determination which has pushed them clear of the rest of the competition and remain undefeated after 3 rounds.

Off to a flying start the Cobra5 drew first blood but it was not long before the Classic 11 fought back to equalize. The rest of the first half see-sawed back and forth with fast breaks and well crafted goals.

Half time came with Classic 11 up 5-4.

This was the first time the Cobra5 had been down in the tournament and as expected the match was proving to be a test of their mettle..

The second half saw both teams reinvigorated and determined to win.

With some tactical adjustments the Cobra5 were focused on pushing their opposition through hard pressing and aggressive passing.

Pegging back the lead the Cobra5 continued to apply themselves up to the last minute taking their opportunities and scored 6 goals to 1 in the second.

Final score 10-6.

Overall this was a fantastic performance by the team to cement themselves as Competition leaders, undefeated after 4 rounds.

Compliments must also go to the Classic 11 who displayed great sportsmanship and ability throughout the game.  We look forward to meeting them again in Round 13 March 4th 2017.

Next week we play the Bayside Bullets .
