Rd 3 -Men's Senior team suffer first Loss

April 9, 2017

The Cobras SC (based at Victory Park, Bentleigh) travelled for the third week in a row where they met FC Clifton Hill SC in their Round 3 league match. The squad was bolstered as Chris Sanita returned to strengthen the backline.

The home team started the strongest and this was capitalised in the 15th minute where the home team scored. In the 30th minute the Cobras had a half chance when Vulic got onto the end of a Knight cross but could not get enough on the ball to direct it in. Several saves by Cobras SC Goalkeeper Jayden Allen kept the score line remaining 1-0.

The second half began well for the home team however, Cobras SC Coach Kupinic made a double substitution ( Elias Tsintzas & Cort Kibler-Melby ) and the tide began to sway for the away team as both Antun Vulic and Cort Kibler-Melby created chances but could not capitalise.

Cobras SC speedy winger Oscar Knight continued like last week to make forward runs down the right wing but to no avail.

The final whistle blew and the score line read:

FC Clifton Hill 1 def. Cobras SC 0
