Bentleigh United Cobras FC offers Kick-off Programs for boys and girls from Under 5 to Under 7 Years.
​
The focus of the Kick-off program is to introduce boys & girls to football (soccer).
​
Our Kick-off program is run on Saturdays by instructors qualified by the Football Federation of Australia (FFA).
​
Sessions consist of fun energy packed activities focused on building skills & confidence with the football.
​
Members of our Kick-off program receive an Aldi Kick-off pack and are invited to participate in club events including end of season celebration.
​
Families are encouraged to come along and try a session to meet our coaches and see if your child likes it before signing up online.

CLUB POLICIES
Club policies are designed to keep our players, families, committee and supporters safe and ensure they are able to enjoy their time at club events home and away.
Codes of Conduct
Cobras FC asks that all members, families and supporters adhere to the following codes of conduct as they apply to them:
Player Code of Conduct
​As a player of Bentleigh United Cobras FC I agree that

I will not engage in the use of crude, foul or abusive language that may be determined offensive or engage in any conduct detrimental to the image of the game when on or off the field.

I will refrain from arguing with the referee and/or assistant referees regarding decisions they make.

I will treat participants, officials and spectators with respect.
-
I will play by the laws of the game.
-
I will cooperate with my coach, team mates, Cobras volunteers, referees and officials.
-
I will not use any banned substance or drugs of dependence at any time during my mebership.

I will display good sportsmanship at all times.
Parent's / Guardian's Code of Conduct
​As a parent , guardian or supporter of Bentleigh United Cobras FC I acknowledge that I will:

Remember that children play sport for their enjoyment, not yours.

Encourage children to participate, do not force them.

Focus on the child's efforts and performance rather than winning or losing.

Encourage children to always participate according to the rules.

Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a game.

Remember that children learn best by example. Applaud good play by all teams.

Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities.
-
Respect officials' decisions and teach children to do likewise.

Show appreciation of coaches, officials & administrators. Without them, your child could not participate.

Will not Coach my child during training sessions and games. That's what the coaches are there for; it sends mixed messages to the players creating confusion.

Will not interfere with training sessions, will stay clear of training areas unless asked to help.

Keep clear from technical areas, benches and change rooms during games and tournaments.This is the ideal time for coaches to teach players without any interference

Respect the facilities & equipment that is being used both Cobras and our hosts
Spectator's Code of Conduct
The Club's priority is to to ensure all spectators are able to enjoy football in a safe and comfortable environment.
Accordingly by attending a venue in conjunction with the Cobras you agree to be bound by this Spectator's Code of Conduct:

Respect the decisions of the Match Officials;

Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their race, colour, religion, language, ability, politics, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin;

Not engage in the use of violence in any form, whether it is by other Spectators, Team Officials (including coaches) or Players;
-
Not engage in discrimination, harassment or abuse in any form, including but not limited to the use of obscene or offensive language or gestures, the incitement of hatred or violence, or indecent or racist chanting;

Comply with FV’s “Conditions of Entry” at all venues;
-
Not carry, light or throw flares or missiles (including on to the field of play or at other spectators);
-
Not enter the field of play or its surrounds without lawful authority; and
-
Conduct themselves in a manner that enhances, rather than injures, the reputation and goodwill of Cobras FC, Football Victoria, Football Federation Australia (FFA) and football generally.
Coaches Code of Conduct
​As a coach of Bentleigh United Cobras FC I agree that

Players participate for fun and winning is only part of the fun .

I will never ridicule or yell at players for making mistakes or for not winning games
-
I will be reasonable in your demands on a player’s time, energy and enthusiasm
-
I will always operate within the rules and spirit of the game and teach my players to do the same.

I will ensure that the time players spend with me is a positive experience. All players are deserving of equal attention and opportunities
-
I will avoid overplaying the talented player, the less developed player deserves a reasonable amount of time .
-
I will ensure that the equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate to the age and ability of all players.
-
I will display control, respect and professionalism to all involved with the sport. This includes opponents, coaches, officials, administrators, the media, parents and spectators. Encourage players to do the same

I will show concern and caution towards sick and injured players. Follow the advice of a doctor when determining whether an injured player is ready to recommence training or competition games
-
I will obtain appropriate coaching qualifications and keep up to date with the latest coaching
practices and the principles of growth development and conditioning of junior players

I understand that any physical contact by the coach with a player should be appropriate to the situation and necessary for the player’s skill development.

I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of every player regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion .

I will refrain from over coaching during games, let the players play and learn from their own mistakes.
Child Safety Code of Conduct & Standards
Bentleigh United Cobras FC has implemented the Child Safe Standards and the mandatory reporting guidelines from the Victorian Government’s amendment to the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (Vic) (“CYFA“) and the Crimes Act 1958 (Vic) (“Crimes Act“).
The Club is committed to promoting and protecting the safety and well-being of all children.
We have zero tolerance for the mistreatment of children.
Everyone involved at the Club is responsible for the care and protection of children and reporting and suspicions or knowledge of child abuse.

All of Cobras Committee and Volunteers are expected to have completed the Working With Children Check
and provided their details to the club by registering on Playfootball as a Volunteer.

All Cobras Coaches are also required to complete a Working With Children Check
and provided their details to the club by registering on Playfootball as a Coach.
​
The Working With Children Check is a free service provided by the State Government.
​
​
Should a member of the club or public have concerns as to child safety they are encouraged to contact the club as soon as possible by emailing committee@cobrasfc.com.au.
Your contact will be handled in the utmost confidence to mitigate any possible repercussions on the reporting party.

Gambling Policy
Cobras FC are signatories of the Love The Game Charter.
This means that we as a club
Do not derive revenue from Gambling
Discourage discussions which promote or otherwise encourage gambling at the Club or Club events.
Do not hold events for MiniRoos, Juniors & Youth at venues which host sports betting or pokies.
Discourage guests from engaging in gambling when attending Club events.
We provide education resources for members on the potential harm from gambling.
Seniors Funding
Cobras FC maintain a clear separation between the financing of Senior teams and the revenue generated from our MiniRoos, Juniors and Youth Programs.
No Fees from the MiniRoos, Juniors and Youth Programs go toward the costs of our Seniors Program.
Seniors will remain financially independent.
