On behalf of the 2023 BUCFC Committee I would like to thank current and past players, families, sponsors, and fans for their support in 2022. I would especially like to thank our outgoing Committee members and volunteers for their contribution to the club over the years. Without their efforts the club would not have enjoyed the success we have achieved.
This will be my first year as President of the Cobras and I am honored to have been elected to support the club in this capacity. Most of you will already know me from my time as Club Secretary but for those who are new to the club and those who have been away from the club for a while, please indulge me a few minutes of your time to introduce myself.
I have been a member of the Committee in various capacities for what is almost a decade. During this time, I have had the opportunity to serve as a Coach, MiniRoos, Junior Coordinator and Secretary. The time has seen my son progress from an U8 Joey to a Youth A-grade player and Senior Men’s Reserves player, also progressing from a child to a young man. I would like to think that his time at the Cobras has played a significant role in his development on and off the field. I also have a 9-year-old daughter who has taken up football in 2022 for whom I have the same aspirations, ensuring I remain with the club for the foreseeable future.
My aspirations for the Cobras remain to create an environment for the boys and girls of our community to develop both as football players and responsible citizens, with pathways from MiniRoos and Juniors to Youth and Senior football be it at the community level or as a part of the NPL. We want to be an inclusive Club for boys and girls of all abilities and representative of the many cultures which make up our community.
I would like to thank all the amazing people who have put their hand up to help the Cobras in 2023. The future of the club has ever looked better, and we should be excited by the year’s prospects.
